For San Francisco–based jewelry designer Emily P. Wheeler and her husband, Myles, the location of their new home was key: “We wanted to be close to the parks as well as in the northern part of the city so we could get across the Golden Gate Bridge easily,” says Wheeler. After six months on the hunt, the couple finally found the perfect house: a four bedroom, two-story 1910 home in the Inner Richmond neighborhood. Not only was it close to the Golden Gate and the Presidio—where the couple loves to hike with their dog, Leon—but it possessed the kind of historic charm with contemporary comforts the couple craved.
